Dr. (C) Erick Herlangga

Dr. (C) Erick Herlangga, S.Tr.Par., S.H., M.Tr.Par., M.H., is a hospitality practitioner and Hotels & Tourism Legal Consultant with over two decades of professional experience across the hospitality, tourism, real estate, and property sectors. He has held senior leadership roles across Southeast Asia, Europe, and China, and has successfully led and contributed to the development of more than 50 hotel projects in collaboration with globally recognized brands such as Kempinski, Banyan Tree, Hilton, and Louvre Hotels Group. His professional background uniquely integrates hands-on operational expertise with corporate-level experience in investment strategy, legal compliance, asset management, and strategic development, positioning him as a rare hybrid professional bridging hospitality operations, legal architecture, and investment advisory.

In recognition of his contribution and leadership within the hospitality industry, Erick was awarded Indonesia's Top Hospitality Leader for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024 by the Indonesia Travel & Tourism Awards (ITTA), reflecting his consistent impact, industry credibility, and excellence in driving hospitality business performance at a national level.

In parallel with his industry career, Erick has consistently developed his academic foundation within the field of applied hospitality and tourism. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Tourism at IPB International Bali, while also undertaking a PhD in Law at Universitas Langlangbuana, further strengthening his expertise at the intersection of hospitality, property, and legal frameworks. In addition, he is expected to obtain a Master of Law from IBLAM School of Law in October, further reinforcing his academic and legal credentials. His academic contributions include the development of applied learning materials and hospitality service models, reflecting his commitment to advancing vocational and professional education in tourism. This dual PhD track combined with advanced legal studies positions him among a limited group of professionals capable of translating complex industry and regulatory dynamics into structured academic and practical knowledge.

Erick is the only expert in Indonesia who uniquely combines extensive experience as a hotelier, a practicing lawyer, and an academic with advanced formal qualifications in both hospitality and law, positioning him at the intersection of industry practice, legal expertise, and academic rigor. He is a registered member of PERADI and a licensed Receiver and Administrator (bankruptcy practitioner), with deep expertise in insolvency, restructuring, and distressed asset management, particularly within the hospitality sector including hotels and resorts. He has also been appointed on multiple occasions as an expert witness in tourism and hospitality investment cases, reinforcing his authority in complex, high-stakes industry disputes. In addition, Erick serves as a full-time lecturer at Poltekpar Prima Cirebon, where he contributes to developing future hospitality professionals through a practical, industry-driven approach that integrates real-world experience with structured academic learning, preparing graduates to meet the demands of the global tourism and hospitality industry.
